North Qikiqtani Community Tour

Qikiqtani Region

In 2011-2012, we have visited five Inuit communities and met with over 450 Inuits to develop, through meetings and interviews, a database of human resources available and interested in taking part in important industrial projects (in the field of mining, construction, etc.)

Environmental Training Program

We collaborated with Kakivak Association to conduct two Training Programs; “Environmental Monitor” (5 weeks) and “Environmental Site Assessment Assistant” (7 weeks). These courses have been delivered during the summer of 2010 in four communities in the Qikiqtani Region.

Drill Helper Training Program

Qikiqtani Region, Nunavut

In 2008/2009, we coordinated the training of 10 drill helpers coming from Igloolik, with the purpose of increasing their skills and their employment opportunities. We created policies, procedures and structured the training program delivery. We also came up with innovative ways of coaching trainees for success, such as obtaining support from their families during training.
